東京にて結成され2019年に活動を開始したSPOILMANは、USグランジやポストハードコアの影響を受けているオルタナ/グランジバンドで、近年では珍しくThe Jesus Lizardへのリスペクトを公言し、その変態性も受け継いでいる稀有な存在。高い演奏力に裏打ちされた表現力、ギターリフのキラーさ、リズムとビートの解像度、筋肉を削ぎ落としたシンプルな音数、硬質なサウンドとその切れ味。メインストリームに対しては惜しくも掠ることなく、現在までBEST KEPT SECRETな存在感を維持している。 アルバム制作スピードは驚異的なまでに早く、これまでに3枚のアルバム、『BODY』(2020年)、『SOLID GREEN』(2021年)、『HARMONY』(2022年) を毎年ペースでKerosene Recordsよりリリース。その創作スピードは加速し続け、今年2023年には遂にメーターを振り切りアルバム2枚分の楽曲が誕生、『UNDERTOW』『COMBER』として2枚のアルバムとして3LAより同時リリースするに至る。同年8月より東北、北海道、九州、関西へと積極的な全国ツアーを展開し、ライブハウスシーンでの評価が高まっていく中、制作スピードは暴走を続け、よせばいいのに2023年3枚目、つまり通算6枚目となるアルバム『BASTERD NERD PIG』まで完成させてしまう。 『BASTERD NERD PIG』は同年末に開催された公民館フリーライブでサプライズリリースされ、完全収録されたそのライブは2024年、2枚組ライブアルバムとしてリリースされている。
Formed in Tokyo and starting in 2019, SPOILMAN is a rare alternative/grunge band influenced by US grunge and post-hardcore, and unusually in recent years, they profess respect for The Jesus Lizard and have inherited its metamorphosis. The band's expressiveness is backed by high performance, killer guitar riffs, rhythmic and beat resolution, muscle-shredding simplicity of note count, and gritty sound and its sharpness. The band has not been snatched up by the mainstream, and has maintained a BEST KEPT SECRET presence to this day. The production speed of their albums is astonishingly fast, and they have released three albums so far, "BODY" (2020), "SOLID GREEN" (2021), and "HARMONY" (2022), every year on Kerosene Records. The speed of creation continues to accelerate, and this year, 2023, they finally broke through the meter and released two albums worth of music, "UNDERTOW" and "COMBER," released by 3LA. In August of the same year, the band began an aggressive tour of Japan, and as their reputation in the live house scene grew, their production speed continued to accelerate, and they even completed their third album in 2023, their sixth album in total, "BASTERD NERD PIG," when they should have done otherwise. "BASTERD NERD PIG” was a surprise release at a free concert at a community center later that year, and that live concert, recorded in its entirety, was released as a 2-CD live album in 2024.
